I felt like I needed to send the two of you an email. As happy as I am now that I am in school I have a new found appreciation for the two of you. My two least favorite classes in school happen to be English and science. My two teachers are less than optimal. I have an English teacher that hasn’t read The Hobbit and misdefined irony, and a biology teacher who seems like teaching the study of life is draining her of life.
So I guess what I’m trying to say is Thank you. Thank you for being the best teachers I’ve ever had and probably ever will have.

Science Jim is a great teacher, Nate is taking HS physics from him now and is learning a lot and enjoying the class. Jim does not have a fancy lab, like the one at CCEE, but he does do labs with the kids (and this counts as a lab class for HS when you are looking ahead to college entrance requirements). The labs for Jim really support what the kids are learning, they use regular items, for the most part, that are easily found – I like this approach, I think it brings science close to every day life.

I just want to let you know that we have a special place for you in our hearts and the great role you played in Madison’s education. I did well with his science education through middle school, but it would have been a strain for me to teach the high school lab classes. But I think you were the perfect science teacher for Madison. And not only did you teach him science, but you got him used to taking notes and studying for a final exam and preparing for pop quizzes. He would never have done as well as his has in his community college dual enrollment classes if he hadn’t learned all of those skills through your classes.

We truly appreciate your thorough, insightful, and enthusiastic teaching of Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. You've empowered Kevin to dig in and apply himself to challenging science concepts with precision. You've always made sure the students kept building their knowledge on solid understanding of previous lessons. And you infused it all with your unique, inspiring, contagious sense of wonder for the beauty of science. And honestly, Jim, because of your classes, we felt especially confident that we were able to offer Kevin a high quality high school science experience. Homeschooling parents worry a great deal about things like that, and you made it possible for us to have peaceful confidence.
Thank you for all you've done for our family-- and for being the amazing person you are. Have a lovely summer!

Hi Jim! I just wanted to let you know that I managed to get by my required collegiate lab science course with an A!! Not only that, but I feel confident enough to continue to incorporate several environmental science classes into my major! I really don't think I would ever have had the wherewithal or as much interest without your courses and your encouraging teaching style. I just wanted to thank you because I am excited that I will be able to be in the political field and speak articulately about environmental issues, which will allow me to contribute in a unique way. I truly don't think that would be possible without your classes, so thank you! I hope all is well with you and that you have some interesting and fun plans for the summer!

Thank you so much for all you do for your classes. We’ve always known science was her thing, but she has been able to explore science in your class in a way that has inspired her to investigate other areas of science she didn’t even know she would like. For years she has said she wanted to be a vet. Now her goal is to find a career where she is able to use biology, physics, and chemistry, although astrophysics has caught her attention, too. Thank you so much for helping her on her science journey!

I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for all you've done for me for the past few years. I always thought that I was unskilled at science, but your classes helped me learn so much, and to grow more confident in my abilities. I also wanted to thank you for writing my Middle College application! Even though it will not be the same not having you as my science teacher, I am forever grateful to you for how you have helped me grow as a student. Again, thank you for everything! Have a great summer!

Thank you so much for class this year. I seriously wish we were in a classroom so I could properly thank you for all of the years of classes I have gotten from you. You are a teacher who has always strived to well inform your students while still keeping it interesting and lighthearted. Thank you so much!

I hope you had an amazing summer, and wish you so much luck with the new school year. I wanted to write to you because now that I am a Sophomore I am taking chemistry. Yesterday I passed a chem test with 100% because of your chemistry class. It was great to know that all those weird experiments paid off! :) I miss your classes so much, my chemistry teacher is really nice but extremely boring. She's nothing compared to doing squattage wattage in 7th grade. ;-)
Anyways, I was just thinking of you and my Caerus experience and thought I would shoot you an email!
